As we depart the funky hippy lodge the rain is absolutely lashing down. We ask Sveinn why he has not given his rain jacket to Unnur. Apparently, she laughed at him for packing a rain jacket and is now paying the price!
Today should have been one of the most spectacular cycling stages, but the driving rain that lasts all day reduces visibility to next to nothing!
Fortunately, at the coffee stop there is a veranda with great views of lots of the local bird life. Many photos are taken during this relaxing break!
There are quite a few hills today, and we do a 35 mile bike ride. I find it quite a struggle, I think perhaps it is the mossie bites, because I usually react quite badly to mosquito bites and always feel weary if I get bitten. Despite being uber careful to not get bitten, some mossies broke through the defenses and had a party on my left shoulder.
We don't stop for lunch on the ride to make sure we can arrive at our destination town Fortuna, in time to get laundry done.
This means when we have dinner Stuart and I order the large pizza! I'm afraid I let the side down, and we didn't finish 1/2 slice of this pizza!
